Commercial and industrial roof restoration specialist NZ Roof Tranz have been conducting staff training through Safety ‘n Action for the past five years. Director Andrew Boag says the training is first-rate and helps keep NZ Roof Tranz at the top of its field.
“We use Safety ‘n Action for all the training relevant to our business – that’s all the working at heights and permit to work training. As per requirements, all new staff must complete training with Safety ‘n Action before they go on the job, and then they have to renew their certificates every two years.”
Andy says Safety ‘n Action is one of the leaders in health and safety training, and those who undertake their programmes come away with everything they need.
“One hundred percent. They’re perfect!”
NZ Roof Tranz are certified vendors to Fonterra, who use Safety ‘n Action as their preferred training provider.
“We do a lot of contracts with Fonterra, so it makes sense for us to use one provider for all of our training requirements.”
As someone who has been in the industry for a long time, Andy has seen his fair share of change, including legislation and requirements around health and safety.
“I’m an old timer – when I started safety wasn’t exactly sophisticated, and it has certainly tightened up a lot. Sure, there is a lot more work and administration to meet the requirements now, but it then also puts you in a position to deal with top end companies like Fonterra and charge accordingly.”
