Get to know our Otago/Southland Relationship Manager. Here is what Lee has to say about his work in supporting a safer New Zealand for generations to come.
With over 20 years’ of experience in the health & safety industry, I’ve seen both good and bad practices in a wide range of sectors.
I was fortunate to be brought up in the access industry in the UK. Our family business was among a handful of companies in England to start importing MEWPs from America in the early 1980s.
With experience of the hazardous work at height industry from such an early age, I became one of the youngest MEWP trainers in the UK in 2004. A mixture of business development, training, and safety management has given me a varied working life.
NEBOSH qualified in 2009, I was then able to train other instructors to teach different work at height courses.
In 2010 I joined a company and built up a large training business delivering courses throughout the UK.
My wife and I moved back to the pride of the south (Dunedin) in late 2015 with our young family. Prior to joining SnA, I was a Territory Manager for a multinational company in the Safety & Hygiene industry.
Understanding customers’ needs and making them aware of their duties under H&S legislation is an important part of my role at SnA. The safety culture in NZ has been historically poor, but by providing pragmatic, customer-focused solutions to all organisations, our team & I at Safety ‘n Action can really make a difference.
