Confined Space FAQs

What is a confined space?

  • A confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed area that is not designed for continuous human occupancy. It has limited entry and exit points and may pose risks due to hazardous atmospheres, restricted movement, or other safety concerns. Examples include tanks, silos, pits, and trenches.

The course also covers emergency procedures and is aligned with NZQA unit standards.

How long does the Confined Space and Gas Detection training take?

  • The training is conducted over two days (16 hours).
