A Class 2 license allows you to drive a vehicle up to 18,000kgs or a vehicle with two axles.
If you do not have your Class 2 learner’s licence you must register for the three-day course.
The course fee includes theory training, and a driver training practical assessment.
This course includes a logbook unit standard (unless you can prove you have sat it with an NZTA approved provider within the last twelve months) and the Class 2 unit standard (17574), which consists of both theory and practical.
If you already hold your Class 2 learner’s licence (2L) or your 24089 is current, then you may qualify for further course time reductions. Please contact us to discuss your options.
Please check the dates on your confirmation letter carefully as we do occasionally need to change the timetable to cater for public holidays and truck and trainer availability.
Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.
If you currently hold a Class 2, 4, or 5 licence and need to drive without a supervisor during training, you are required to apply for an exemption. This process involves completing a DL4B form, which can be found here on the NZTA website. The exemption allows you to meet legal requirements for training without being accompanied by a supervisor.
All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
