Overview

The Drug and Alcohol Management course provides participants with essential knowledge and skills to address workplace substance misuse effectively. Covering topics such as drug classifications, workplace policies, legal responsibilities, and recognizing impairment, this course equips learners with strategies for ensuring safety and compliance. Participants will also explore the role of external resources and support systems in managing drug and alcohol-related challenges, fostering a healthy and productive work environment. Designed in accordance with New Zealand legislation, this course is vital for maintaining workplace integrity and employee well-being.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Define drug classifications, offences, and penalties
  2. Describe behaviour and protocols for dealing with impaired individuals
  3. Describe management of workers with drug and alcohol-related issues

Entry Criteria:

  1. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
