This is a combined course option for bucket attachment and forklift endorsement for the fork attachment.

Telehandler attachments may include buckets, forks or crane. Attachments do not include an attachment that is towed, for example trailers, hay rakes or similar implements used in an agricultural activity.

Please bring along your ID - We need to verify the identity of students in attendance, please bring ID with you on the day of training.

    Operate a telehandler

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. Control of hazards associated with operating a telehandler
  2. Carry out post-operational procedures
  3. Check and prepare a telehandler and attachment before use
  4. Operate a telehandler

Prerequisites:

  1. Must hold a minimum of the class of driver licence and the relevant endorsement required for the vehicle
  2. A wheels (W) endorsement on your driver licence
  3. OSH Operators Certificate (if there are forks)
  4. Must have satisfactorily gained at least 200 hours experience in the operation of a telehandler. They have also competently demonstrated the following tasks as per the manufacturer’s operating instructions and company procedures:

     Completed site inspections/checklist.
     Prepared telehandler for operation.
     Completed pre-operational checklists.
     Operated telehandler on a worksite.
     Carried our daily maintenance.
     Reported and took action for any faults.

Entry Criteria:

  1. All students are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5.5 or higher, to be eligible to attend our courses. The person responsible for making bookings or authorising attendance on the course must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to acceptance of their student(s) onto the course. Where a student does not meet our English language requirement a reader/writer must be supplied by the student or the person responsible for authorising the student’s attendance. The reader/writer cannot be another student attending the same course.
