Ensure your staff remain competent after completing their course. Competency assessments confirm that, post-course, students are applying what they learnt to the workplace.
VOC field assessments are designed to facilitate the ongoing assessment of trained individuals in their workplace environment. Completing these competency assessments ensures that correct procedures are being used in the workplace.
The Verification of Competency (VOC) for Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) evaluates an operator’s ability to safely and effectively assess, operate, and manage different types of MEWPs within their workplace. The assessment focuses on ensuring that operators can demonstrate a thorough understanding of MEWP types, their suitability for specific tasks, and the safety features of each machine. Operators will be tested on their knowledge of regulations and Codes of Practice, including legal responsibilities when operating MEWPs.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, operators will be required to assess the worksite to ensure safe MEWP use, identifying potential hazards and managing risks. The VOC also includes practical evaluations of the operator’s ability to inspect for faults or damage, and follow proper shutdown procedures to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
Upon completion, you will receive a VOC report outlining each trainee's areas of competency and any areas that may require further training or additional VOC checks in the future.
