Ensure your staff remain competent after completing their course. Competency assessments confirm that, post-course, students are applying what they learnt to the workplace.
VOC field assessments are designed to facilitate the ongoing assessment of trained individuals in their workplace environment. Completing these competency assessments ensures that correct procedures are being used in the workplace.
The Verification of Competency (VOC) for operating a Truck Loader Crane (HIAB) evaluates an operator’s ability to safely and effectively handle lifting operations in compliance with current industry standards and the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes. The assessment focuses on the operator’s knowledge of worksite assessment, hazard identification, and risk management protocols, ensuring they can safely lift, move, and place loads using a truck loader crane.
Operators will be tested on their ability to use appropriate attachments, equipment, and procedures for lifting operations, as well as their understanding of the care and maintenance required for the crane and its equipment. The VOC also assesses the operator’s competence in preparing the crane for road transport, stowing equipment, and completing necessary documentation to ensure the safe and legal operation of the crane in various environments.
Upon completion, you will receive a VOC report outlining each trainee's areas of competency and any areas that may require further training or additional VOC checks in the future.
